Alfonso Extra Añejo No. 5 Gordo (7.5x58)

Alfonso Extra Añejo No. 5 Cigars

The Alfonso Extra Añejo No. 5 represents the exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to tobacco aging by Nelson Alfonso, founder of Selected Tobacco. The Extra Añejo collection showcases a distinctive approach to cigar maturation, combining carefully selected premium tobaccos with an innovative aging technique inspired by the use of French oak in fine winemaking.

Expertly handcrafted at Tabacos de Costa Rica in Costa Rica, the Extra Añejo No. 5 features an impressive 7 1/2 x 58 Gordo format. It combines a silky Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper with an Ecuadorian Connecticut binder and a carefully selected blend of Nicaraguan and Peruvian filler tobaccos, including Nicaraguan Ligero.

One of the defining characteristics of this cigar is its remarkable five-year aging process. The cigars are aged in specially maintained rooms lined with cedar and French oak, allowing the tobacco to develop greater depth, smoothness and complexity.

With a medium-to-full strength profile, the Alfonso Extra Añejo No. 5 delivers an elegant combination of cedar, toasted almonds, cream, roasted nuts, gentle spice and subtle natural sweetness. Its generous ring gauge and extended format allow the carefully aged tobacco blend to develop gradually, creating a smooth and memorable smoking experience.

The Alfonso Extra Añejo No. 5 is an excellent choice for cigar enthusiasts who appreciate exceptional tobacco quality, sophisticated aging techniques and premium Costa Rican craftsmanship.
